My view of the world is enhanced through the lens of a camera. What seems ordinary becomes unique – an artful expression of the otherwise mundane. Fleeting, tender moments between two people are suspended – remembered for a lifetime. And innocence is preserved in the portrait of a child. What I love about photography is the ability to capture a moment in time, that will never be repeated, and present it as an art form. Since I was a very young girl, I have always had a passion for the visual arts, but as a sophomore in high school I picked up my first 35mm camera and the world suddenly became simpler and more attainable. Everything (and everyone) possessed its own beauty, and I could capture and interpret it all with a simple click of the shutter.
As a young adult, I went on to attend Bluffton University. I graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art, and a minor in Business Administration. I work full-time in marketing, but photography remains my passion. And in 2007 I decided to go ‘pro’ in the wedding and portrait photography industry. Since then, I’ve converted to the digital age of cameras and developed my photographic career into one that is fulfilling and enjoyable. I love creating lasting memories for couples and families and am truly blessed to be able to “let the beauty I love be what I do.”
